Hi,
One major aspect that search engines really love is fresh content.
Why... I hear you shout?
Well, the search engines know that people who search the web want to find the latest information on a particular subject. If a website's information has not changed for sometime, a search engine will consider that the information on that site is becoming dated and may not be as relevant as it once was.
Search engines are able to detect when new information has been added to a website or whether anything has changed since its last visit.
If a website's information (words, decriptions etc), stay the same then Google et al will come to the conclusion that this old and dated information is less relevant and your website could start to drop down the rankings... and sometimes it will just plummit!
Conversely, if Google and friends notice new fresh information (content)
on a website, it will conclude that this site is still relevant and it will maintain and even improve its ranking.
In fact a website that constantly has new content, will be visited more often by Google et al and is more likely to be rewarded with a higher ranking.

Hi Steve, I totally agree with your tip. Some months ago my site disappeared from Google even though I constanly change my text and then voila it reappeared. Ahh...the mystery of technology.
